"Cumston Hall, built in 1899, is owned and operated by the Town of Monmouth. As the caretaker of this 110 year old historical landmark, I can only seek the best in the business when it comes to professional, caring, trustworthy and skillful people such as business owner Jonathan Burnham and his associates. The building's architecture is a mix of a Romanesque style of asymmetrical columns and towers, and varying external textures of the Queen Anne period. The building is decorated throughout with plaster ornamentation, beautifully crafted exterior and interior wood trim, and hand stenciled ceilings. The 250-seat opera hall features elaborate plaster carvings, a fresco mural ceiling, and more than 100 stained glass windows. That being said, Jonathan along with his associates have done professional painting and carpentry work for the Town Of Monmouth for the past 3 years and have lived up to their name and our expectations. We will continue to rely on Burnham Painting in the future."

"Jon Burnham has done an excellent job with a number of painting/restoration/preservation projects on our Queen Anne Tower House over the last few years. In fact, he was one of the craftsmen who contributed to the 2005 Statewide Historic Preservation Honor Award that we received from Maine Preservation Historic for "Excellence in Historic Preservation and
Stewardship." In addition to doing some of the painting and carpentry he also supervised a number of painters who worked on the project. Jon is particularly good at collaboration which is so vital on the types of projects we have had. I recommend him highly with enthusiasm and would be glad to talk with anyone who might need additional input before contracting with him!”

"Jon, once again you have done an excellent job. You have worked with us in restoring the interior of this home. Your work has been outstanding. When it came time to restore the exterior, you worked with us from beginning to restore this home to its original look. As you know we own a house that was built in 1900. My wife and I wanted to restore the house to its original look. You worked closely with us to determine the right colors and then proceeded to restore the outside of our home. You not only preformed a thorough prep, you repaired it to its original looks, areas of the house that experienced the wear and tear of a house that over 100 years old. Your attention to detail resulted in so much more than “having the house painted” You were responsive to any concerns we had during the project. I felt like we worked as a team to achieve outstanding results. Your work exceeded our expectations. We look forward to continuing working on the interior. I recommend you unconditionally. Thank you for your excellent work. "

"My experience with Burnham Painting was very positive. This is now the second time I have utilized Jon’s expertise, first the interior and now the house exterior. My wife and I have been more than impressed with the quality and care that Burnham Painting puts into their work. Jon was pleasant to work with and his painters were prompt, very polite, efficient, and neat. No paint splatter or mess left behind. We would recommend them to anyone who is looking for quality and experienced painters. Truly a pleasure to work with, and a job well done."

"Jon Burnham and his team did the exterior paint on our 1921 historic shingle style house in Portland, ME. It was a major project that included paint color selection, carpentry work, significant scraping, gutters, an exterior garage, and shutters. Throughout the project, working with Jon and his team, we were impressed by his professionalism, experience and great suggestions. Everyone on the team was reliable and engaged in the project. They completed the work quickly with great attention to detail and were responsive to any requests we had as the project developed. Our neighbors admire the colors and overall craftsmanship of the job. We’d enthusiastically recommend Burnham painting for any project as large as ours was or small."

"The Burnham crew did a spectacular job preparing and then painting the entire outside of my house this May, 2015. They also painted the greenhouse behind the house. They were spectacular contractors. They were extremely considerate of house plants and objects around the house. And did a stunning job of painting the house. I can not speak highly enough of their excellent workmanship. They were very well organized, coming when they said they would, and explained clearly everything they were going to do. And I even enjoyed their selection of music while they worked. I would recommend them to anyone interested in having their painting project done right!!"
-John Corrie
"Jon and his crew were fantastic to work with on our exterior house painting project. They also did some minor repairs . We were very impressed with the men doing the work. They were friendly and professional. From choosing colors, and advise from Jon, to the final product, we have been more than pleased. Working on our 17 year old red cedar siding was a challenge and they did a great job. Love the results!"

"Those of us who live in old historic homes, whose architectural integrity is of great importance both to ourselves and the heritage of the State of Maine and our nation, are a breed onto ourselves. We are accustomed to the intricacies of living in an old home. Nothing is level, there are few right angles, and “I’ve never seen that before.” is a frequent statement from almost any hired worker. Some people romanticize the challenges of antique home upkeep with compliments of “It has great character!” In the 42 years that I have owned The Batchelder Stetson Cape Cod home, dated 1791, in Greene, Maine, I have learned a great deal: that character somehow has less appeal to those we seek to help us care for our cherished homes. In short, my experience is that many “service people” aren’t willing to address the problems inherent in old wood, peeling paint, and countless other idiosyncrasies of an 18th, 19th or early 20th Century home. I researched hiring a painter carefully before entrusting him or her with my home. Burnham Painting was outstanding in their attentive professionalism and willingness to address the inevitable issues that constantly arise when maintaining a historic home. I write this, yes, out of loyalty to a fine company, but more because I sincerely love old buildings, and I want others to cherish them, as well. To do that, to preserve our architectural heritage, those of us gifted with an old home simply must put them in the hands of those who share our respect for the few buildings remaining from our history. I put my home in the skilled, caring hands of Burnham Painting, would do so again, recommend them most highly and readily put my name to that recommendation."

“Thank you, Jonathan, for a job well done! I was very impressed and pleased with the professional work you performed and supervised on my building. The task involved very detailed work and it looked great when you were finished. The job was done in a well predicted and timely fashion which made it easier for me to schedule around. The professional attitude and courtesy you displayed toward your employees, my tenants, as well as me was appreciated. I am convinced the new paint on the building was instrumental to its sale soon after completion. I will recommend you to anyone I know needing their homes or buildings painted."

"Jon Burnham has been more than a trustworthy contractor for our company; he has been a silent business partner in what we are doing. The rehab projects that we have taken-on have been acknowledged by local officials as the types of investments in the existing housing stock needed to bring confidence back to the local real estate market. We take all the credit, but we know that Burnham's finishing touches on the exteriors of our buildings have made all the difference. There's only one chance to make a good first impression, and with Jon Burnham and his crew, we know that's what we are doing."
- Jon Mercier, Great Falls Development Group, Inc.

"John and his crew repainted the majority of the interior walls of a very large house for us. The quality of his work was excellent, he was very meticulous, and everything came out great. We were in the process of moving into the home and John accommodated our schedule as far as meeting up with us to make sure that our specifications were met. Ultimately, we just emailed him all of the color choices (5) and where they went and when he was done all the rooms looked great. Additionally, John is VERY personable and easy to work with. He did a great job."

"I just want to follow up to tell you about the exceptional service we received from Kyle, Justin & Ryan. Not only did they finish a day early then expected, they were tidy, polite, thoughtful and put me at complete ease about the work to be done. When I came home for lunch they would be busily working on the house, smiling and each would give a kind hello. Kyle would take the time to discuss the progress, and to ask questions about potential challenges regarding tree branches, lattice work and even a bird nest (which I decided to leave the nesting mother alone so they painted around her at my request)
All said and done, our 200 year old house looks great and the service was outstanding! We certainly plan to use Burnham Painting services again!"

"It is with pleasure and confidence that we write a reference for Jon Burnham sharing the experiences we have had working with Jon and his crew. Burnham Painting was the name we heard most often when asking staff working in paint stores to give us names of companies that are reputable, as we have had poor quality of work done in our prior home in another city. We called Jon and asked to have him come to our home to gives us an estimate. Jon arrived on time and prepared to discuss colors to use, type of paint, and estimated how much the job would cost. We were impressed by his knowledge and professionalism and signed a contract to have the work done. On the day the project started, they arrived prepared to work. The work was flawless, and we enjoyed having these talented, motivated, and personable young men working in our home. Since the interior of the house was painted, we have had the crew power wash our home and replace our deck. No matter what task the crew takes on, the work is meticulous. We can state without reservation that Jon Burnham and his crew do outstanding work. If you want to hire a crew who have expertise in multiple areas, call Jon Burnham Painting. We know you will be pleased with the high quality of work."

"The Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul is the largest Roman Catholic place of worship in Maine. It is a landmark in Lewiston. The parish was very fortunate to have Burnham painting repair and repaint the interior walls and vaulted ceilings on the east and west sides of the upper church after some water damage to the exterior walls. The crew did a stellar job matching the existing paint scheme throughout the interior of the upper church. They were able to attend to all the details in the delicate plaster work on those surfaces. Throughout the process we were still able to offer Mass in the upper church with no disruption at all. I couldn't have asked for a more considerate and conscientious contractor. The parishioners were thrilled with the outcome."
-Msgr. Marc Caron
"For anyone having a project that requires a team of professionals, Burnham Painting should be your first call. Our project was painting a beamed, cathedral ceiling and walls as well as dry wall repair. Mr. Burnham's crew were outstanding with their attention to detail, plus left job site neat each day and stayed on schedule. We will definitely consider Burnham Painting for future projects."
